 THE CURRRENT “BOATHOUSE” DATES TO 1905, ITS DESIGN BY HELMIE AND HUBERTY INSPIRED BY THE SANSOVINO’S  LIBRARY OF ST. MARK BUILT IN 16TH C. VENICE. IT IS A CITY OF NEW YORK LANDMARK (1968) AND WAS ADDED TO THE NATIONAL REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES IN 1972. NO LONGER A “BOATHOUSE”, IT NOW SERVES VARIOUS VISITOR AND ADMINSTATIVE NEEDS AND OF COURSE ADDS TO THE GLORY OF PROSPECT PARK.
