The famed right-field wall and scoreboard in Ebbets Field,  Carl Furillo’s private empire, remains one of the most identifiable icons of ‘40’s and ‘50’s major league baseball. And the one single part of the scoreboard most remembered by Brooklynites was the Abe Stark sign offering a “free suit” to any batter hitting the 3’x30’ sign. Did anybody?
